Educating through art
Art has accompanied the man since the dawn of time. As one of the basic fields of his activity, it has been a manifestation of creativity and the foundation of timeless values. This article undertakes to present issues connected with broadly understood aesthetic education and educating through art and music. The educational value of music is discussed, as well as the educational benefits resulting from musical experience, regardless of how big it is.

Educational aspects of literature and culture in the works of Bolesław Prus
In his fictional and journalistic writing Bolesław Prus devoted a lot of his attention to the issues of the educational role of literature and art. In accordance with the positivistic mottos of work at the grass roots and organic work, he underlined the importance of books in promoting education among various groups of the Polish society. He encouraged readers to take up scientific literature, also including pedagogy. He postulated reading valuable fictional works of literature. However, he distanced himself from the excessive fascination of Poles with culture. He assumed that they should first concentrate on the elimination of the economic backwardness in relation to other European countries, and only then become fascinated with art. Nevertheless, he also saw its educational advantages. He emphasized its functional value. He put a lot of effort to promote literature and art among various social groups, especially among workmen and peasants.

Multicultural education in the era of globalisation: programme myth or necessity?
Culture is like a ‘lense’ in glasses, which changes our perspective of perceiving the reality, our way of behaviuor, the way of communicating with other people and our style of living and thinking. In the period of globalization new phenomena take place which are based on migration, which require from us not only new skills but also attitudes. The contemporary world postulates openness, tolerance, empathy and cross-national and cross-cultural understanding. How to organise the process of education preparing for the multi-cultural model of living, preserving the national distinctness and individual character?

The need of continuing education
This article is concerned with problems connected with the continuing education of adults. The article focuses on the importance of adult education for the personal and professional lives of adult students. Among all the problems connected with adult education the issues related to adult “upbringing” are also important. The author presents some of the results of his own research which can be found in the book entitled “Adult education in the light of the requirements of the contemporary life”.

Culture – multiculturalism – implications for education
Culture, regardless of its definition and research orientation, is connected with the description of the functioning of a man and his activity. Culture results from the activity of many generations, and it is transmitted in the process of educating and socialising. The dynamics of social processes, human migrations and the civilisation development lead to the mixing of cultures and creating multicultural societies. The goal of education is to support a thorough development of the student, including respect for other cultures, tolerance and openness to being different.

JOHANN HEINRICH PESTALOZZI’S shaping of a moral man on the basis of his work: “My research on the participation of nature in the development of the humankind”
The subject matter of the article is Pestalozzi’s work referred to in the title above “My research …”, which occupies, as it seems, a separate place in his literary and educational oeuvre. It has a character of a philosophical social and moral treatise. However, it can be noticed that the literary content of the work constituted the basis of Pestalozzi’s practical educational accomplishments in the elementary schools and educational institutions he ran. The author of “My research ..” assumed that the human species goes through three developmental phases: a natural state, a social state and a moral state. Therefore, every human being passes these phases in his development, but the final, moral phase is only an ideal which is difficult to be reached.

The church as the subject of education
This article is concerned with the role of the Church in the process of educating and teaching children and young people. Nowadays, Catholic schools are very important in the field of education. By founding such schools and running them the Church realises its educating mission. The objective of a Catholic school is to support parents in fulfilling their obligation of bringing up children. Catholic schools should enable their students to fully develop their abilities and interests, and to prepare them for active participation in the life of the Church, nation and state.

Components and strategies in organisational culture management as indicators of the educational activity of adults
The article discusses the possibilities of the effective orientation of the educational activity of adults with respect to culture management through definite components of the organizational culture and strategies connected with it. It is shown that the operationalisation of the components and strategies of the organizational culture lead to its understanding and appropriate application. Such an approach gives the manager and the employee some points of reference and a feeling of identity. It defines the rules of conduct and determines the models of thinking and behaviour, which play the role of models for all educational and developmental activities in the organization, including adaptation activities: social and professional. In the summary it is justified that the analysis of the dynamically changing concepts of functioning of modern organizations is important for adult education.

Current society provides us with many opportunities for realization and development but on the other hand mainly youth is threatened by being dependent on drugs during the process of becoming an adult. There must be emphasis placed for not trying to experiment with drugs. It may be very difficult to find out the various reasons for drug dependency, moreover it is more difficult to cure from such dependency. Therefore, it is necessary to get known problems of drugs, its influence, reasons for start of dependence.
