PERMANENT EDUCATION IN THE EDUCATIONAL THOUGHT OF BOLESŁAW PRUS

Abstract: Bolesław Prus (1847-1012), a renown Polish writer, columnist and educator, devoted a lot of space in his fictional and journalistic writing to the problem of permanent education, which, at the time of the partitions of Poland, could only and exclusively be realized using the social forces, because the invaders were not interested in the development of education among Poles.  The most important objective of adult education was the eradication of illiteracy, especially among farmers and workers. He encouraged the town and country intelligentsia to teach farmers and workers the art of reading and writing.  He also drew a lot of attention to issuing manuals, which were helpful in gaining scientific, psychological, economic and religious knowledge. He also noticed the great role of educational lectures, whose objective was the popularisation of scientific, technical and cultural achievements. He appreciated the role of museums and agricultural, agricultural and industrial, hygienic and educational exhibitions in presenting craft, industrial and agricultural innovations. Many of Prus’s ideas are realized in contemporary permanent education.

ON ANTI-AGING MEDICINE  FOR YOUNG PEDAGOGUES AMONG OTHERS

Abstract: In quite rapidly aging societies of developed countries many people are looking for a way to live longer and in better health. One of the ideas for the achievement of this desire is anti-aging medicine. This medicine is based on the analysis of pathophysiological and epidemiological data translating into quite radical recommendations on lifestyle, including diet. Particularly important is the positive attitude to life, the ability to avoid stress and manage affairs at one’s own pace. However, the question remains open as to whether these characteristics of current centenarians can be transferred to the next generations. Anti-aging medicine is still at a very early stage of development.

Keywords: aging, anti-aging medicine, avoiding stress, centenarians, diet

THE DEMOGRAPHIC CONDITIONING OF THE TOWN OF ZAMOŚĆ AND ZAMOŚĆ COUNTY LABOUR MARKET CHANGES

Abstract: Demographic changes are one of the factors determining labour market changes. This article presents the results of the analysis of the influence of demographic processes on the Town of Zamość and Zamość County labour market changes. As regards labour market changes, the predicted decrease in the number of people who are the most active professionally, that is those aged 20-59, is very important.

In the year 2020, the analysed group of people will comprise 10 470 persons less (10.4% less) than in 2010. The decrease in the number of people aged 20-59 will be close to the number of unemployed persons now registered. Thus, the predicted demographic changes will cause a significant reduction of the pressure on the labour market. The number of graduates and young people looking for their first job should fall. Even though now it may seem improbable, if the overall economic situation improves in the following years, especially by the end of this decade, it may be difficult to find workers.

Key words: labour market, demographic predictions, Town of Zamość, Zamość County

HOBBIES OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AS DETERMINANTS OF TRAINING NEEDS ANALYSIS

Abstract: Analysis of training needs tends to consist of determination of discrepancies between what people know and can perform, and what they should know and be able to do. Consequently this process regards evaluation of differences between the current state of affairs and the desirable result, in other words – what people must learn in order to do their work well. This implies a need for learning to improve. In order to carry out successful detection and analysis of needs, research was conducted on achievements among disabled persons. Their hobbies and practical experience were studied as a basis for future professional activities. The research involved 139 people with disabilities.

One of many activities undertaken by the 60+ generation is participating in the classes of the Universities of the Third Age. THE MUSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Abstract: Effective shaping of musical attitudes is very often hindered by a lack of knowledge about the musical development of children and young people. Young learners are forced to sing songs not suitable for their voice scale and songs which are rhythmically and harmonically complicated and with wrong texts. A common mistake is encouraging students to imitate adults, singing with exaggerated expression, changing into screams, and performing exercises beyond their performing abilities. The main objective of teachers should be shaping the students’ positive attitude to music. According to the medical principle “primum non nocere”, every music education teacher should have at least some elementary knowledge about the process of students’ musical development.

Key words: musical development, pre-school period, adolescence, developmental stages, music education
