THE EVALUATION OF THE INCIDENCE OF MUSCULOSKELETAL PAIN SYNDROMES IN DENTAL HEALTH WORKERS
Background. Dental health workers have increased risk of disorders related to the occupational factors. Back pain syndromes are one of these disorders.
The aim of the study was to assess the incidence of back and extremities pain in dental health workers and its correlation with body posture at work.
Materials and methods. 50 dental health workers (dentists and dental assistants) were included to the study. They were asked to fill a questionnaire dealing with: posture at work, time of static muscle activity at work, breaks at work, work at operational microscope, the incidence of back pain, pain intensity according to VAS scale.
Results. 70% of the study group (35 from 50 persons) suffered from back pain. Mean intensity according to VAS was 5,14 points. The pain was localized in lumbar (34% ), chest (29%) and neck (23%) region. Statistically significant correlation between the existence of pain and trunk posture was revealed. Persons suffering from pain at work had more often laterally bended and rotated trunk. It was revealed that persons with upper limbs pain had raised arms at work.
Conclusions. Lumbar and sacral region back pain syndromes are the most frequent complaint in dental health workers. Back pain is more frequent in workers with lat- erally bended and rotated trunk. Back pain is more frequent in workers with raised arms at work

EVALUATION OF REHABILITATION EFFICIENCY IN THE SPONDYLOSIS
Cervical spondylosis is a growing diagnostic and therapeutic problem. Neck pain is reported in about 34% of the general population, and 14% of people have symptoms that persist for more than 6 months. The aim of the study is to evaluate the disability resulting from the pain of the cervical spine and the effectiveness of rehabilitation in the treatment of neck and neck pain. The study was conducted among 72 people with cervical spine pain. The research used the original questionnaire and the NDI (Neck Disability Index). The analysis showed that most of the respondents work in a sitting position that promotes pathological changes. Disability caused by cervical spondylosis disrupts normal functioning in everyday life. Increased severe neck pain is the reason for more frequent use of rehabilitation. The use of rehabilitation in the examined persons causes the reduction of pain.

OCCURENCE OF PAIN COMPLAINTS IN LOCOMOTOR SYSTEM OF PHYSIOTHERAPISTS
Background. The pain of the musculoskeletal system of physiotherapists are a phenomenon quite common. Unergonomic positions at work, forgetting the prevention of the effect of creating within the congestion of traffic. Symptoms most often affects the spine in the lumbar-sacral. Conservative treatment combining kinesitherapy and physiotherapy gives a satisfactory therapeutic effects. Work is to check whether the specific activity at a physiotherapist triggers pain? Is prevention or no impact on the appearance of the pain and whether it is dependent on lifestyle physical therapists?
Material and methods. The study involved 56 people with higher education towards physiotherapy, working in a profession. These persons employedare involved in the rehabilitation centers in the Province. Among the respondents are 36 women and 20 men. The study was used for this purpose prepared questionnaire consisting of 22 questions about work, life style and the type and intensity of pain experienced.
Results. It turned out that about 86% of those surveyed feel pain.58% of them shows the lumbar spine, the same people declare, symptoms that appear when the trunk flexion. Half of the respondents feel the pain a few times a month, 73% in performing their duties. However, the majority concluded that it does not affect significantly to function in everyday life and described him as a moderate.
Conclusions. The specificity of work affects the formation of pain, and the type of employees, work experience and use of prophylaxis did not show significant correlation with perceived pain. In leisure activities and the dominant mode of transport has a significant impact on the perception of pain. To a lesser extent, is also affected by the systematic practice of sports.

INNUMERACY AS A COMMON PROBLEM OF PATIENTS WITH ENDOCRINE DISEASES
We can observe prolonged longevity of population, partly it has been gained by clinical medicine progress. We can also admit that amount of endocrine patients is growing. According to WHO definition of lifestyle disease we find there two the most common endocrinopathy – diabetes and obesity. Good communication physician-patient is absolutely essential for effective treatment. Unfortunately, we don’t use any tool to estimate understanding of medical prescriptions as a routine procedure. There is much bigger problem when we have to ask patient for giving informed consent. We have only a little idea about health numeracy in medicine, which is integral for cor- rect fulfilling medical prescriptions, admitting drugs, running checkups and making decisions by analyzing probabilities, percents, fractions.
In English they call it as health literacy and health numeracy. Still there is no compact definition for those. Scientist increasingly signal the need of distinct health numeracy as a separate phenomenon. Health numeracy is defined as critical point of health literacy. Numbers are everywhere, on each level of medical communications.
In this study two health numeracy test has been used, The Berlin Numeracy Test (BNT) and Schwartz 3 items. We have examined 125 patients from endocrine ward in John Paul II Hospital in Zamość. There was 110 women, 15 men in age from 17 to 85 years old. 112 patients had thyroid disease. 27 patients had metabolic disease. Nobody achieved maximal score (which is 4 points in BNT and 3 points in Schwartz 3 items). The most common score was 1 point in both tests.
According to results from this study we can state that endocrine patients have prob- lems with health numeracy on high level. We routinely don’t estimate it, so there is no reliable information about the level of health numeracy in ours patients.
Counclusion: Innumeracy are very common in patients with endocrine diseases.

SOCIAL INSTITUTIONS IN CONSIDERATION OF DISABLED PEOPLE
The content of this article is a synthetic overview of selected, and in the author’s opinion, the ‘most important disability ‘matters. They are included in several dimensions: theoretical and practical, presented by some scientific disciplines and from the perspective of public institutions involved in the rehabilitation and social assistance, including social work. Above all, however, the primary reference and the central figure of the following considerations are disabled people — their subjectivity, the situation and needs.

FALSE MEMORY, PSYCHOLOGICAL CURIOSITY OR DISEASE SYMPTOM
Introduction. The phenomenon of false memory is defined as memory present in the memory, endowed with a strong subjective belief that memory is real, but which in fact did not take place. The problem of “remembering” the facts that there were initially seemed rather curiosity, later gained some interest in psychology, especially the judiciary. But only in recent years it began to be more widely interested in this phenomenon, as perhaps an important symptom among medical patients, particularly geriatric.
Aim of study. Rating frequency phenomenon of false memories in people over 65 years of age and the impact of cognitive and executive impairment on the formation of memory distortion.
Methods. Patients aged > 65 years with co-morbidity and multimorbidity were subjected to tests for typical geriatric assessment and tests investigating the so-called. false memory, according to the method of the DRM paradigm.
Results. In 47 out of 49 tested (i.e., 95,9%), there was at least one not presented critical lure.
Conclusion. The phenomenon of false memory is present in the vast majority of geriatric patients. False memory may prove to be an important problem among older people. Although its clinical significance needs further study

OSTEOPOROSIS PROPHYLAXIS AND HEALTH HABITS IN THE RURAL AREA PATIENTS
Introduction. Proper habits and physical activities are the fundamentals of precise prophylaxis and osteoporosis treatment. Urban area are especially required to meet the need. Proper types of treatment and prophylaxis treatment programs are essential for the right purpose.
Aim of study. Determine the association between selected risk factors of osteoporosis and sociodemographic variables, coefficient of T-score with patients presented to densitometry in the rural Lublin area.
Materials and Methods. 1260 patient exams from Lublin were analyzed. Mea- surements were performed in the area where patient lives, with medical history and bone density scan. Researchers used t-Student test, ANOVA test, Pearson correla- tion coefficient, and chi-square test. Significance level was p < 0,05 and p < 0,01. Researchers used Statistics 10 software.
Results. Low risk factors for osteoporosis, such as family history of osteoporosis, chronic corticosteroid use, slim body as well as the advanced age predispose to lower values T-score. Risk factors such as smoking, thyroid disease, alcohol consumption and excessive intake of coffee, fair skin patient do not diversify the patients studiedby looking at the value of T-score. Most of the results indicate osteoporosis and osteopenia are received by patients with primary education.
Conclusions. Prophylaxis programs should be considered for implementation especially in high risk populations.

SIGNIFICANCE OF DISINFECTION PROCESSES IN REHABILITATION CENTER TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE HYGIENE OF THE HANDS OF THE STAFF
The article discusses the importance of disinfection and hand hygiene in rehabilitation centers. The process of disinfection reduces the number of microorganisms by killing vegetative forms of bacteria and fungi and inactivating the amount of micro- organisms on the surfaces of objects or tools to a level that under no circumstances presents a risk to human health. Disinfection is mainly used to protect staff from infection with micro-organisms from the patient, thus preventing the development of infections in rehabilitation facilities. In the profession of physiotherapist as well as in other occupations where direct contact with another person plays a role of hand washing and disinfection, it is undoubtedly that the most frequently used and precise „tool” in rehabilitation practice is the hands of the staff. The ‘most popular, •yet effective technique of hand washing and disinfection is Ayliffe’s scheme. During cleaning and disinfection we guarantee that no area will be omitted and the hands will be thoroughly cleaned.
